Woke my daughter up in Dublin CA...
Good Hunting... from Varmint Al
Thus was the first quake in close to 20 years that actually shook me up a bit.
I grabbed by valuable camera..and went outside and listened to a few dogs barking.
Live very nearby. Almost all pictures fell off wall above fireplace. Crooked pictures everywhere. Spice rack fell off shelf in kitchen and broke.
Stuff fell off shelves around the house and in the garage.
Shot!
Scared me right awake. The poor cat ran away terrified, ripping my arm open in a panic to get under a bed.
No wasn’t shot-misspelled cuss word.
It woke me up here in the Pleasanton / San Ramon area of the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. It woke up my daughter too, but not my wife, it seems. It didn’t feel like a 6.0 here, though. However, it was rolling and rocking back and forth for what felt like a long time, though. At least 15 seconds, maybe longer.
I glad it wasnt worse.
the other latest quakes in Chile and L.A.
I trust we wont have any stronger “aftershocks”
ahahah very good!
I’m glad too!
I was asleep on the couch right in the path of everything falling.
the few dogs barking ...was short lived.
all I know for sure was the shaking woke me up and I sleep pretty soundly
I’m in Fairfield and I SURE woke up. Worst one I felt since Loma Prieta. Where are you located?
You were a lot closer than me.
Im not ready to start the day at 4 am!
Im In central Marin..In San Anselmo.. a mile from San Rafael
the last time I felt a tremblor like that was Loma Preita
Fairfield’s considerably closer to the center than where I am
The 6.0 earthquake is pretty strong, especially since it happened only 10 km (6.2 miles) below the surface at the epicenter. According to the USGS web site, it occurred just under two miles west of Napa County Airport.
.
- It must be jelly because jam does not shake like that!
I live in V-town. This didn’t feel as bad as Loma Prieta(almost knocked me over)but more damage.
I watched the news in horror during Loma Prieta as the freeway collapsed on live television. OMG all those poor people.
Shook pretty good here in El Sobrante. All the old ceiling cracks are back, time to get out the mud....
Good Morning El Sobrante..
there doesnt appear to be any damage here...that I can see at 4 AM...
