As a vet rep I found that lots of people claim to be Vietnam vets who couldn’t spell “Vietnam” with an encyclopedia in front of them. I had one goofball claim to be a SEAL officer who was captured and sent to the USSR. Smelled fishy, so I called the Navy SEAL people in California. It took them several minutes to quit laughing and answer my questions.
