Russia Wants Bulgarians to Stop Vandalizing Soviet Monuments
The Moscow Times ^ | 08/19/2014 | Anna Dolgov

Russia is demanding that Bulgaria try harder to prevent vandalism of Soviet monuments, after yet another monument to Soviet troops in Sofia was spray-painted, ITAR-Tass reported.

The Russian Embassy in Bulgaria has issued a note demanding that its former Soviet-era ally clean up the monument in Sofia's Lozenets district, identify and punish those responsible, and take "exhaustive measures" to prevent similar attacks in the future, the news agency reported Monday.

Russia turning petty vandalism into an international incident. Someone clearly does not like Captain America and Superman.

"Some of our Putinistas on FReeRepublic should volunteer to go guard the monuments."

The Putin-lovers here will accuse the Bulgarians of provoking Putin which in turn validates Putin's terrorist actions.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin playfully pawed a Bulgarian shepherd dog In Sofia, Bulgaria, after being gifted the furry friend by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, the Bulgarian Standart reports. Putin was in Sofia as part of an agreement that teams Bulgaria and Russia together in constructing part of the South Stream gas pipeline.

Nice puppy, I'll name you Barack.

FORWARD COMRADES! 100,000,000 deaths at the hands of soviet communism isn’t enough.

It's as if Russia considers Bulgaria part of its sovereign territory. I recall someone pointing out that at the fall of the Nazi state, all the emblems of Nazism were removed. At the “fall” of the Soviet state, NONE of the monuments were removed nor was there ever any verbal repentance of Communism by Russia's leaders.
