Dear FRiends,
We are being rolled by the media, by the government and even by some of our own weak-sister representatives. FR stands firm for the constitution and for truth. Truth always shines through eventually.
Keep the faith!!
And now we need your continuing loyal support to keep the lights on.
FR is funded solely by contributions made by liberty loving people who enjoy and use it.
We are beholden to no political party.
No advertisers, no outsiders, no sugar daddies, no corporate string pullers.
No commercial ads. No annoying pop-ups. No ad tracking. No mail campaigns. No spam.
We are self-funded, fiercely independent and enjoy our freedom to speak plainly in the support of liberty.
But we cannot exist without you.
If you have not yet made your donation, today would be an excellent day to do so.
Every donation counts no matter how big or small. If you can donate $5, $10, $20, $100 or more, it would be greatly appreciated.
Your loyal support makes Free Republic possible and your continuing participation makes FR the number one pro-life, pro-family, pro-small government, pro-defense conservative forum on the Net!!
And we're going to need FR now more than ever to combat the current crop of Marxists and progressives who have infested our government and public institutions and who are dead set on destroying the final remnants of our cherished constitution and our precious God-given liberty!!
Please click the secure server link above or donate by mail to: Free Republic - PO Box 9771 - Fresno, CA 93794
Make it a monthly if you can. We have some very generous FReeper sponsors kicking in an extra ten bucks for every new monthly signed up. We already have 34 new monthly donors this quarter.
Or send in a hundred dollars or more per quarter and join I_be_tc's growing list of 300 Club patriots. I_be_tc sends in $100 per quarter and challenges 300 others to do the same. And we have received 142 donations of $100 or more so far this quarter. If we could get 300 FReepers to send in $100 per quarter, these FReepathons would complete much faster.
Help keep freedom alive!!
Thank you all very much!!
God bless.

The 'orange' volcano alert, now in place, is the second highest level and is issued when a "volcano shows heightened or escalating unrest with increased potential of eruption." Color code 'red' is the highest level and indicates "eruption is imminent or in progress - significant emission of ash into atmosphere likely". The activity started on 16 August and there was a "strong earthquake" on Monday morning. "This is the strongest earthquake measured in the region since 1996," the Icelandic Met Office said. The Bardarbunga volcano is located under the Vatnajökull glacier and rises 2,009 metres above sea level, making it the second highest mountain in Iceland. When the Eyjafjallajokull volcano erupted in 2010 it shut down most of Europe's airspace for six days and affected more than 10 million travellers. According to ABTA, up to one million people affected were British.

"Iceland[5] i/ˈaɪslənd/ (Icelandic: Ísland [ˈistlant]) is a Nordic country between the North Atlantic and the Arctic Ocean.
It has a population of 325,671 and an area of 103,000 km2 (40,000 sq mi), making it the most sparsely populated country in Europe.[6] The capital and largest city is Reykjavík; the surrounding areas in the South-West of the country are home to two-thirds of the population. Iceland is volcanically and geologically active. The interior consists mainly of a plateau characterised by sand and lava fields, mountains and glaciers, while many glacial rivers flow to the sea through the lowlands. Iceland is warmed by the Gulf Stream and has a temperate climate despite a high latitude just outside the Arctic Circle.
According to Landnámabók, the settlement of Iceland began in AD 874 when the chieftain Ingólfr Arnarson became the first permanent Norse settler on the island.[7] In the following centuries, Norsemen settled Iceland, bringing with them thralls of Gaelic origin. From 1262 to 1918, Iceland was ruled by Norway and later Denmark. The country became independent in 1918 and a republic in 1944."
