Richly, with ridiculous display, the politicians corpse was laid away.
While all his acquaintances sneered and slanged, I wept
for I longed to see him hanged.

Guess its best not to speak ill of the dead.

I agree, besides, everyone dies, sooner or later.

Some should be sooner rather than later, but I'm not the judge.

I’d wager you’ve changed your position on abortion now, haven’t you, Mr. Jeffords?

Jumping Jim will likely be jumping over the flames.

(That is not to say he is in Hell. He could be in Purgatory.)

His new home is in Cocytus, according to Dante, but so petty his treason, he is buried just up to his ankles in ice.

“I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.” Attributed to Mark Twain (some say misattributed). Seems appropriate for the occasion.

Twain never said it. In fact, no one ever said it in precisely that form. Matt Blum at Wired has the fact-check: the quotation actually comes from Clarence Darrow, the lawyer of Scopes Trial fame. Here’s a fuller version of the quote, which appears in Darrow’s 1932 work The Story of My Life:

All men have an emotion to kill; when they strongly dislike some one they involuntarily wish he was dead. I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.

All of the above text came from this website, I merely copied and pasted.
