The Feds contention is that the shooting itself constituted a “possible civil rights” violation. That’s all they need. They can conduct a simultaneous investigation while the state/local authorities conduct theirs.

Wilson getting attacked should be a hate crime and a possible civil rights violation. Where are the feds for that?
