I have heard many good things about him — but reading this article left me with a bad impression of his worldview.

Just the fact that he changed his name from Lew Alcindor to a Muslim name defined his world view. Same with Cassius Clay and many other high-profile sports figures. ...I guess Jim Brown is one that went Muslim but didn’t change his “public” name.

Let’s see; In both cases, a larger, black (full-grown) teenager assaulted a smaller, armed white man. In both cases, the armed white man attempted to approach the black teenager because the black teenager was acting suspiciously. In both cases, the perp attempted to grab the legally-armed man’s weapon. In both cases, the armed man legally and correctly defended himself by shooting the assailant. In both cases, the political Left attempted to slander the actual victim (the white man who was assaulted) and attempted to white-wash (no pun intended) the reputation of the dead perp (who had at least some history of being violent and some history of committing crimes).
Right. No comparison, whatsoever.

I was at U.C.L.A. once and saw Mr. Alcinder in the student union.
He was with a white girl about 4’8” tall who was his girlfriend at the time.
Size difference really made an impression.
The real comparison is political expediency.
