I’d imagine there’s a process they have to follow before they can do that. I also doubt it would’ve mattered to the folks who decided to riot over it.
Perhaps it took a bit to be absolutely sure they had Brown on the video. Coming out with the wrong guy would have made it twice as bad.
On the other hand, I think it's good that they were given enough rope to hang themselves in full public view.
Yep. Given a hostile media, if you are not 100%, the media will seize the 1% you are mistaken on, and spin that to discredit everything else you said. You have to be 100% right in every part of your statement.
Not so "easily arrested" when in a group. The Ferguson police know that all that's needed for a major riot is another black person shot by police. They want nothing to do with that, and would rather see the city burn than have the Obama "Justice" dept doing a rectal probe on them.
Well, every even numbered year is an election year, and in the odd years there’s always some race baiting, overblown incident happening too.
Maybe it’s because there’s so much black crime someone’s gonna get popped or busted? Ya think?
Yo, moron - Brown’s accomplice already confessed.
> Michael Brown allegedly physically assaulting a much smaller clerk while stealing Swisher Sweet cigars, the medias narrative has collapsed. The media and top-level politicians across the political spectrum portrayed Michael Brown in saintlike fashion. That narrative no longer holds.
Thanks 2ndDivisionVet.
Once you've seen one thug strong arming the owner in the liquor store, you've seen the all.
I can remember the same vid, over 30 years ago, different actors, same scene.
Sure, he made a few mistakes, particularly when he was one of the teen stars on ‘Hollywood Street Beat’ but he was turning his life around.
as usual, the “victim” is a huge man and nothing like any 18yro that I know.....such a sweet person...
They probably had to conduct a thorough investigation first. Imagine them releasing the video, claiming it was Brown then it turns out it wasn’t.
I saw a story linked here on FR (I don't have the link handy) that described the reasons as follows:
A) the clerk reported the robbery, but the officer that pulled Brown didn't know about it, meaning there was no immediate connection between the two incidents.
B) only after the "witness" (Brown's friend) spoke to the police about the robbery several days later did the police realize that they were dealing with the same people.
C) the store initially declined to give the police the videotape of the robbery when asked a few days ago (in what now seems to be a prescient desire to avoid community backlash). The police had to threaten legal action before they turned it over.
So we may very well have seen the videotape very soon after the police got it... which, unfortunately, was well after the riots and everything had started...
makes sense
Feds Objected To The Release Of Alleged Michael Brown Robbery Tape
"Police in Ferguson released a video tape allegedly showing slain teen Michael Brown robbing a store even though the Justice Department warned that doing so could inflame racial tensions, CNN is reporting."
Snip
"Despite holding off Thursday, Ferguson police still decided to release the tape Friday over the Justice Department's objections, according to CNN."
This has devolved into the Dance of the Lawyers —

Photos of the officer here:
He looks like a pretty tall guy
The media want to use this to consume months, like Trayvon did, rather than have the discussion be about Illegal immigrant invasion, ObamaCare, IRS, Iraq, Gaza, Benghazi, etc.
Keep the real stuff off the pages as long as possible. And conservatives are like everyone else...they love a good puzzle.
Michael Brown attacked the cop because Brown thought that the cop was attempting to stop him for the theft he had just committed. That’s my theory...
I think your right..just because the cop didnt know about the robbery, doesn’t mean that Brown didnt assume that was why the cop was stopping him
