Leftist Israeli author A.B. Yehoshua is saying that Israel should not refer to Hamas as a “terrorist organization” but as an “enemy”. In an opinion piece published in the New Republic magazine, Yehoshua wrote that Israel should give Hamas the status of a “legitimate enemy”.

There are those who think that kidnapping, murder, random rocket and mortar attacks, bombing women in marketplaces, shooting at children while hiding behind other children, and other standard Hamas tactics qualify as terrorism. Then there is the political left, which thinks those actions are okay when they are directed against Jews.

Sovereign states get to decide who is a terrorist and who is an enemy : Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan have been enemies in the past.
Terrorists are, well... terrorists. Killers with telephones, megaphones, banners, flags, face rags and explosives.
