This looks pretty bad for the police. Can anyone say police state?

Normally, I tend to believe the police first, but the Ferguson clowns appear to be ripe for work for your nearest liberal gubmit.

Personally I’m horrified that those “protecting us” don’t want their actions to be recorded.
So much for freedom of the press in this country.
This looks like a war zone — I would like to hear the reasoning behind the swat teams actions.

Need AJ in Chicago at 12:00Am on a Saturday night. They’d get alot more than tear gas.

they weren’t dismantling the gear, they doused the lights by facing them downward, and they re-positioned the camera. they didn’t seem to take anything apart, or break anything down as if for transport.
that said, they probably should have kept their hands off in the first place.

I don’t care that it was al Jazeera. This is wrong, and should not be happening in our country.
If they can do that to them they can do it (and worse) to you...and get away with it!!!
To: the_boy_who_got_lost
Yeah, but the irony of al jezzera complaining about freedom of the press is rich.

The tape is on a leftist site and it’s been edited. Be careful as the left plays games.

Some ret. Military guy now told Rush that local reports said the reporters were ‘camping out for hours’ in McDonald’s. Management had them kicked out.

“Can you say al Jazeera?”
They are no worse than NBC/ABC/CBS. What is your point? that we can trust the police to only gas “approved” press outlets?
To: the_boy_who_got_lost
Now, do you really think that the framers of the Constitution intended to grant al Jazeera First Amendment protections?
To: the_boy_who_got_lost
I'm critical of the police militarizing their departments, leaning too heavily on SWAT tactics and shooting dogs.
But I cannot get outraged at the police for getting tough with looters and rioters wantonly destroying private property.

Al Jazeera America (AJAM) is an American basic cable and satellite news television channel that is owned by the Qatar-royal family's Al Jazeera Media Network. The channel, which was launched on August 20, 2013, directly competes with CNN, HLN, MSNBC, Fox News Channel, and in certain markets, RT America...
Al Jazeera Investigative Unit[edit]
Formed in 2010, in its own words: the role of Al Jazeera Investigations is not to report the news, but to make the news.
The Unit, also known as 'the Investigations Team' or, simply, 'Al Jazeera Investigations' is headquartered at the Network headquarters in Doha, but also has representation in London, Washington, DC and San Francisco, the last two the base of the Al Jazeera America branch...
