So is this couintry a democracy or perhaps a plutocracy these day? Certainly not the republic envisioned and created by the founders.
The American founders were aware of human nature and they understood the tendency towards tyrants securing public offices, positions of power. This is why the Founders worked so hard to craft a self- regulating system of governance (complete with just about every “ check and balance “ they could devise) — and then to both limit the federal govt’s powers ( to 18 enumerated activities) and on top of it all, to attach a Bill of Rights to further protect the individual citizen. It’s a real shame the Current regime has such contempt for our “exceptional” American Constitution. It was certainly the best effort in human history to craft a nation where the govt served the citizen, and not the other way around.
Ah geez. If you understand that politicians are already bought, paid for and sold into slavery; you don’t understand anything. By their greed for money and power they only owe allegiance to their masters. The American people are not slaves; they are free.
So now it is time to get up off your ass and unite to do something about it instead of blathering away about our woes.
