Republican Governor Sam Brownback is in a 10-point hole in his bid for reelection in Kansas.
The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Kansas Voters finds Democratic challenger Paul Davis with 51% support to Brownback’s 41%. Three percent (3%) like some other candidate, while five percent (5%) are undecided.(To see survey question wording, click here.)

Phone surveys always seem to lean Democrat, because Republicans are working to help support the Democrats who are home to answer their phones, and Republicans have better things to do than answer stupid surveys.
That said, there probably will be purcons who sit home for reasons or excuses, hoping to get a Democrat they can rub into everyone’s face, and there will be fakecons who get all tingly just thinking about voting for a Democrat.
Don’t forget Wyandotte county.
Why can’t the voters in Kansas (and the USA, for that matter!) understand that the Democrats are the party of disease, death and destruction?

Kansas is not Deep Red. It is Deep Republican, but that’s not the same thing. Many Kansas Republicans are more than happy to vote for a Democrat, especially when they think that the Republican candidate is too conservative. Jayhawkers were and are Republican, but were never conservative.
Did you even bother reading my post? I said nothing about Brownback cutting taxes. This however is a quote from Bloomberg News.

I’m not sure that you read Blackirish’s comment. He (She) said that Brownback had mishandled the economy which is certain the message of the Bloomberg article as well as being the major Democrat talking point.
The tax cuts have indeed cut current revenues as was to be expected since the tax cuts focus on exempting small businesses and independent contractors from Kansas income tax. This is a step along the way to the elimination of the income tax for everyone in Kansas, but the state will require some means to replace that revenue. Much of the replacement will come from property taxes and sales taxes from people who choose to locate their businesses in Kansas. Folks on the Missouri side are already starting to make those kind of decisions, as the report indicates.
Brownback is going to have his hands full fighting the Democrat attacks and the media hysteria against anyone daring to cut taxes. He may not survive, but his reforms will help Kansas be more economically attractive here in the midwest.
The article made no mention of the economy being hurt and did note that tax collections had actually increased as a result of the tax cuts.
A note to the ignorant among us (which apparently includes you) - this is what is known as supply-side economics and it is how Reagan turned our economy around in the 1980s.
With regard to the specifics of what Brownback did, in which he cuts taxes which weren't matched by spending cuts, isn't that exactly what Reagan did to turn the economy of the country around in the 1980s?

You know, I read yours and centurion316’s comments and I completely understand why Reagan couldn’t get elected dogcatcher now. It isn’t enough that Brownback cuts taxes and then has tax collections actually increase as a result, but he then has to do the impossible which is to get people like you to understand the connection between reducing taxes and increasing tax revenues.
I can’t buy this just yet.
Rasmussen used to be the gold standard, but partiularly since they were upside down on Romney vs Obama, they have gone way over the top favoring Obama, by consistently showing him up 4 points more than the average from all the other pollsters put together.

Try to respond to my points. Where in the article that Blackirish linked to does it say that the Kansas economy has been hurt by Brownback’s tax cuts? And if tax collections increased after Brownback passed his tax cuts, doesn’t that completely contradict the point of the article which is that the tax cuts Brownback passed weren’t properly ‘paid for?’

Which is not to say that Brownback is not in for a tough fight. His tax cuts have left a hole in the budget. He's been cutting education. It's not playing well across the state. He only took 63% of the vote against a total unknown in the primary.
Throwing insults around is not helping your incoherent argument at all.

Democrats and the media are pouncing on those facts to attack him and denounce his plan - fact
Tax cuts tend reduce revenue in the short term, but increase revenue long term as the economy reacts to the positive effects of a reduced tax burden. This is why Reagan’s tax cuts worked, but they did not do so overnight, and will not do so overnight in Kansas.
