I was pretty disappointed in the movie. I watched the first one and thought it was horrible, very boring. I never did catch the second installment? Was it better? I see it’s on Netflicks, is it worth checking out?

I hope it is a vast impovement over the last two films...

Both were pretty much unwatchable...

I saw part 1, but never saw part 2. I guess I might try to rent part 2 before this comes out and see it in at the theater, if it shows up.

Don't see as many movies as I'd like these days.

Was it bad because it was poorly made? Or depressingly too similar to what we are living through now?

I don’t think the movies were very true to the book. That was their downfall.

The worst part in AS2 was that the stowaway hobo character who put it all together for Dagney was replaced by another run-of-the-mill company employee. Completely killed it for me. That was supposed to be a turning point in the story.

I’d rather re-watch We The Living.

I thought the acting in the first one was horrible and the whole thing reminded me of some amateur video shooter... never bothered with the second one....

Well, it was low budget but one can make a good low budget movie. I would have to say it was the script. It was very plodding and boring. No drama or pacing at all. I could barely stay awake. The acting wasn't very good either.

Poor production. Story lines and cinematography not very good. It was like watching one of those movies where a guy is trapped in a box inside the trunk of a car and that’s the only scene you get until near the end of the movie. They need Spielberg vision. He could make a movie about a caterpillar and make it interesting.

Nice. Last I had heard it was November, so September is a nice surprise.

I thought part two was much better done, but looks like the whole cast has been turned over again for part 3.

I'd suggest it's the latter. You can turn on the TV and watch Atlas shrugging.

My guess: The Libertarians and the libertarians will love it. Other, not so much.

Well, the 60 page John Galt speech was in this part of the book so that should pick up the pace of the movie. :-)

The book was very, very long. One of the first novels I read as a child, my mother really wanted me to understand the world from that perspective. There was a lot I didn't catch then but when I read it 50 years later the book made much more sense and was prescient.

The movies so far have not been terribly well done, but for the limited budget I can't complain. The movies are probably better if you are familiar with the book so that you can understand where the movie departs from the book and where it replicates it. The main theme though still comes through. If you take freedom from people they become poor slaves and there will be a ruling class who live off the slavery of others.

Today Democrats and all Progressives see themselves as the ruling class. When the country first came into being the rulers felt they were the liberators. The Democrats and other Progressives now have had a taste of power and the taste of imperialism and they like it too much to give it up.

The movies are worth the time to watch especially if it convinces you to read or re-read the book.

I have always thought the concept of going Galt was the most unreasonable part of the book. There is not and never will be a hidden valley where everything works and energy is magically made from nothing. Everything else in the movie, the way society falls apart is pretty right on. If you come to think that the hidden valley is really just the reformation of society on sustainable principles then perhaps it makes a little sense.

We can't run away, it just doesn't work, there is no where to run to.

The second one wasn't any better, unless you didn't like any of the people playing the main characters in the first...They replaced most of them. It takes awhile to figure out who is who.
