....Brown, 18, died Saturday after a Ferguson police officer shot him multiple times outside an apartment complex. Brown was two days from starting class at Vatterott College. Close friends had been packing up and departing for schools such as Kansas State University and Arkansas Baptist University on sports scholarships.
Everyone else wanted to be a football player, a basketball player, said Gerard Fuller, who had known Brown since second grade at Pine Lawn Elementary School. He wanted to own his own business. Hed say, Lets make something out of nothing.....
It hurt so bad to get that phone call, Jenkins said...."Mike used to sell candy in middle school. Id come up to Mike and say, Mike, let me get some Skittles or something.

sorry...your post #56.
The cops in my town will stop you for wearing your hat backwards in your car after dark. I got stopped on my street one night coming home after working late. As a sports photographer for colleges, I often turn my hat around because otherwise it will hit against the camera. I forgot to turn it around one night as I loaded up the car and drove home. I turned onto my street at about 12:30 AM. The cop pulled me over and was clearly surprised to find a balding 50+ year old guy behind the wheel.
The cop wanted to know where I was going, where I was coming from, and if I had been drinking. I told the cop I was going home (and pointed to my house), that I hadn’t started drinking yet—but would have a beer when I got home.
The cop told me I was stopped because I seemed to turn quickly when he pulled out behind me.
I just looked at him as if he was as stupid as he was. I asked him if he stopped everyone who turned in front of him?
No answer.
I never believed my daughter was right when she told me that cops looked for that when kids were driving through town. I know better now.
“Dont you see, its a contract civilized persons have with one another, I will follow the law and you will follow the law. That is the only way it works, get it?”
Agreed.
However, when the cops do something evil, take revenge on the cops - not a mall!
Those are Urban Feral thieves. Neither more nor less.
Well, on second thought, perhaps far less.
It this witness’s story is correct it was the officer that escalated the situation from the get go.

“...The two walked and talked. Thats when Johnson says they saw the police car rolling up to them.
The officer demanded that the two get the fk on the sidewalk, Johnson says. His exact words were get the fk on the sidewalk.
After telling the officer that they were almost at their destination, Johnsons house, the two continued walking. But as they did, Johnson says the officer slammed his brakes and threw his truck in reverse, nearly hitting them....”
Yep. Fleeing, unarmed, and shot from about 35 feet. Possibly with his hands in the air.
I understand times are different for an old foggie like me but I see no photos of this young man smiling...just looking angry. In addition to the hand signal they have one of him looking down at the camera with his arms crossed. In fact now on twitter there is a protest underway about which photos the MSM used. I understand, as I don’t have twitter or a cell phone.
I am pretty rare for one of old folk. I spend my time around today’s kids. I am invisible to them. I listen to their conversations and watch their mating habits. I am like a modern day Margaret Meade.
Most kids are great. They are smart and funny. Their distrust of authority borders on cynicism that took decades for US to develop. This fascination with thug culture just has me scratching my head.

Good points all around. I do share your optimism for our youth as I continue to work with the young soldiers of our Army. I have said numerous times that they are as disciplined and dedicated as any I’ve seen since I started in the AF as a butter bar almost 50 years ago. And a predominant number of them are minorities too. Very squared away about themselves and their future. Unfortunately their senior leadership not so much.
“no one in the media wants YOU to know the facts.”
There. Fixed it! ;)
Oh, there will be one more. There will be several more. It is inevitable. Fact of the matter is... the police have cart blanche to subdue without questions. I trust the police as much as I trust Obama. (which is not at all).
About 20 years ago I was pulled over, in my own neighborhood, by a white cop who asked what I was doing there. (My husband and I had just purchased a house in my predominantly white neighborhood). I said I live here...he hemmed and hawed and said you have 30 days to change your city stickers! very sternly as if I had broken a law driving in my own neighborhood. Have not trusted them, since. (My first child was in her car seat because I was dropping her off at Nana and Pop Pops house so I could go to work)
More recently my son stayed over night at his college for orientation (Regent University at the CBN campus) Imagine my alarm when I found out that he walked to the local 24hour diner to eat with two of his dorm mates (who were black) in the middle of the night. I told him not to do that ever again. I am afraid he could get hurt by robbers or the police.
We have instructed our son if you are ever confronted by the police for any reason, be respectful, follow all orders, move slowly and keep your hands where they can be see them...so you can survive the encounter.
Please post the original source. He had a common name and these cases are in another city.
But at the same time he is talking to media and has a lawyer, a good recipe for a bad witness. Ferguson does not have dash cams or recording devices which is appalling!
However, we do have a thing called an autopsy. The autopsy can collaborate if the victim was choked and if his hands where in the air when he was shot.
We also have forensics to determine if a shot was fired inside the police vehicle.
Are you talking about the kid with Brown? I read his attorney has offered to make him available at any time and the Ferguson Police has declined to interview him.
Sounds like they did not even bother to interview him at the scene of the shooting.
That alone gives me pause to the story the Police chief is putting out.
This was denied by the Ferguson Police which claims have left messages with his Attorney. Again, not good to have a contemporaneous statement. I also have suspicion of a police department that does not have dash cams!!!
