But the movies never seemed to live up to his potential or so it seemed to me. What I enjoyed from Robin though was his unscripted comedy performances. He was a king of spontaneous improv like Jonathan Winters.

Yes, I never saw him in a movie that quite lived up to his unspoken potential as an actor. But his improv was brilliant. He had a mind like a fireworks pinwheel! Amazing to watch him riff . . . on just about anything. RIP, Robin. This really is a loss. So sad.

Some of my favorite ones involved Robin with Jonathan Winters. There are a few of them but the one I am remembering involved about 5-10 minutes of razor sharp improv where they bounce off each other. What a stunning talent.
