I think the best thing he ever did was “The Fisher King.” His was a haunting performance.

I recall he did several dramatic roles. One of which I recall was an episode of Homicide Life on the Streets in which he played a tourist who’s wife was brutally murdered. As I recall, it was a heartbreaking and brilliant performance and pre-dated other dramatic roles to come like Good Will Hunting but after The Fisher King and Awakenings in which he was also very good.

I loved him in Good Will Hunting. Much more to this guy than just comedy. I wonder now if he was dealing with what turned out to be his own issues in that movie.
