Hawaiis Gov. Neil Abercrombie was defeated and U.S. Sen. Brian Schatz was fighting to avoid a similar ousting Saturday after a Democratic primary vote that occurred as the state cleaned up from Tropical Storm Iselle and awaited an incoming hurricane.
State Sen. David Ige took a broad lead over Abercrombie from the earliest returns Saturday night, and the incumbent conceded publicly little more than three hours after the polls closed. The Senate contest was a dead heat late into the night; at one point Rep. Colleen Hanabusa and Schatz were separated by a mere 11 votes.

Isn't the Big Island mostly non-white? And wouldn't that favor Hanabusa in a big way?
I can already see the headline if the Senate election results in recall problems: Abercrombie & Glitch.
Trickanology --- or is Abercrombie just plain libtard stupid to go out on a limb and then saw it off?
There was not one word on why the challenger won. Politically, what separated them? Is one more left than the other? Which one? (Just because Obama backed the seated men does not mean there can’t be somebody even more crazily left than them.)
Can someone familiar with Hawaii explain WHY Abercrombie was defeated so soundly in the Democrat primary? He must have been AWFUL as governor. But WHAT specifically?
Thanks PJ-Comix.
Yes, I would like to know as well.
Isn’t Abercrombie too old for the “young” voters there? But he is the same age as the “hip” CA totalitarian Jerry Brown.
What did Abercrombie say about the certificate that Obama released c. 2011 (or maybe it was 2010), the one that Sheriff Arpaio called fraudulent?
This is the future of politics in States that are One Party Democrat areas. The fights will be tribal, identity and racial battles. Thank you Democrats for this progress.
depends on who’s in charge of counting the votes.
Lot of hanky panky going on in that regards.
Lol. I’m sure that fat old hippie appreciated Obama’s warm endorsement all the same.
Things may be going the way of the Hutus & Tutsis here in the US but it is kinda fun to see white libs hoisted on their own petards in the meantime.
I knew he was going to win by the April poll. I knew (Abercrombie) was in trouble because people werent forgetting that pension issue. Neil as a politician hasnt been as effective as he should be.
Kato was referring to the governors call to tax the pensions of senior citizens, a proposal soundly rejected by the Hawaii Legislature in 2011.
After doing some reading, this is mostly about race, but also with a twinge about the terrible economy. Your assessment is about the best I have seen. Seemed like many in the liberal press are uncomfortable about admitting this.
Maybe it’s cause Abercrombie did legal maneuvering to implement “gay marriage”? Could the storms also be judgment from God?
“The appears to be race. Inoyue made a deathbed request that Abercrombie (white hippie) appoint his protege Hanabusa (Japanese) to the Senate. Abercrombie (white hippie) appointed Brian Schatz (white political hack) to the Senate. This pissed off Hanabusa supporters (Asian tribalists), who decided to get revenge by tossing the white hippie and his puppet out on their butts.

I suspected this was the case. Once non-whites have enough votes they’ll vote one of their own in instead of some white liberal.
There’s a similar situation in Minnesota IIRC. A white liberal woman who has held a state house seat for forty plus years is being challenged in the Rat primary by some Somalian with the backing of the growing Somalian community there.
Isn't Diversity wonderful?
