Everyone's got a picture on display - on the wall, on the desk, on facebook, wherever - to brag on to others. Maybe it's a pose with the fish you caught or the buck you brought down on your last vacation. Maybe it's a place you visited like Disneyland or the Empire State Building.
This is similar but opposite - it's a photo Obama hangs at Martha's Vineyard so he can say "Remember that time I worked? Look, I've got my phone and my pen, and I look so in-charge and professional..."
