Wolfowitz. Yeah. I’d forgotten about him. Piece of filth, like the filth he served. Can’t imagine he ever gave a moment’s thought to what’s good for the Christians.
It became a disaster when the Democrats took Congress in 2007 and started cutting funding. That forced a US withdrawal timetable and undercut our position on insisting on continued basing. Add to that Busch acquiescence to the Sunni and Shia demands that Iraq would be governed by a strong Republic rather than a federation of states.
Everyone saw the de-evolution coming.
And it’s not “lost”. It’s just reverting to nation states. In time they will confederate and Iraq will be a confederation of states as previously proposed in 2005 and accepted by the Kurds.
This is not a big deal people. It just should have been done in 2006 rather than a ‘bound to fail’ single republic.
