We do not send our military to treat Ebola patients
Have you ever heard the term, enter at your own risk?
Actually, if this outbreak takes another bounce and opens up a new front, we very well might see US military on the ground with choppers, med tents, hospital ships and the like.
It’s part of what we do.
At some point, NGO’s cannot handle it, and I think they may have reached that point. We shall see how the next couple of weeks proceed. In past outbreaks, it reaches a peak and begins to decline. I see no decline, but I do see a leveling off so keep your finger crossed that we don’t have to intervene militarily with aid.
We have plenty of military in Africa, they can become infected, as can any other American.
Christian missionaries nor any other American travels in Africa with an agreement that a monster like you will condemn them to death if they get ill.
Your panic and hysteria, and anti-Christian bias is disturbing, and frankly your hysteria about two people being treated at the very clinic that was built to treat CDC people for this very thing is a sign of fear out of control, especially since you would have no problem with it if they were two GIs.
Actually we most certainly do. Members of the US Army (uniformed and DA Civilians) (USAMRIID) have been present in Africa for each major outbreak of Ebola, Marburg, and similar pathogens of military interest. Other organizations within MEDCOM may also deploy from CONUS for outbreaks, as well as the soldiers of USAMRU-K, who are already in Africa. These organizations have a variety of missions, but they do in fact treat patients directly in some cases.
