The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday ramped up its response to the expanding Ebola outbreak, a move that frees up hundreds of employees and signals the agency sees the health emergency as a potentially long and serious one.
The CDCs level 1 activation is reserved for the most serious public health emergencies, and the agency said the move was appropriate considering the outbreaks potential to affect many lives. The CDC took a similar move in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and again in 2009 during the bird-flu threat.

So they are saying we have a real problem here. No more pretending otherwise?
Just setting the stage for The Usurper to do some more usurpin’.
Later on in the article it is said the freed up people are going to four African nations.
Or we don’t have a problem but we’re going to pretend that we do? My mom always used to tell me to prepare for the worst but expect the best and hopefully you’ll land somewhere in the middle.
Too bad that, based on our government’s past performance, many of us question everything they say and wonder what their ultimate goal is.
I see. And our treasonous administration brought it into this country!?!
false’flag coming.
these a$$holes brought it here on purpose. whole damn fedgov needs to be brought down. no more alphabet groups under the executive. no more alphabet groups period.
Well thank you CDC for bringing this problem to our shores so you could now pose as our saviours —
Gentlemen, no fighting!
Golly,, who could have seen this coming 3 days ago?
Interesting that we all hear Americans are “ safe” because of the careful, good care in our hospitals. Are they saying the doctor and nurse just returned to Emory and the multiple other healthcare professionals who were infected with Ebola were careless or not good at their profession?
Of course they were competent and careful, yet they got infected. We are being lied to yet again about the seriousness of this threat!
So, was the sick guy in NYC positive for Ebola? I thought they said this was all under control here.
Oh, they meant we had to be under their control.
I get sick of their game playing us.

“Are they saying the doctor and nurse just returned to Emory and the multiple other healthcare professionals who were infected with Ebola were careless or not good at their profession? Of course they were competent and careful, yet they got infected”
Those medics are working very long hours in hot, primitive conditions. In rural Africa with inadequate supplies and locally trained help. The surprise is that more of them aren’t getting infected.
You think ‘Ebola and America’, will be decided by those two patients at our top Ebola center?
So if things are fine with their isolation, all is OK, because they are what all this depends on?
Personally, I don’t think that clinic and those two patients is where any problems that we have in our Ebola future will come from.
I have been hearing that crap for decades and it is so silly .until OBAMA came to power then all bets are off
Gotta say, there was a major angry mob scene on The Five yesterday, when Eric dared to take issue with Greg’s point of view.
Greg is never mean or raging to Bob, not like he is with Eric. He hits below the belt, going against all rules and then that girlfriend of his, Dana, jumps on every time, like they’re 15 year old lovers.
Eric said what makes sense, and what Dr. Carson said today, that they should not have brought those people back here. They risked their lives going over there, must they risk ours? We do have good infection control techniques here, and we have people - imperfect (Dr. Carson reminded us, bribable) people here.
Greg turned on him like a wild mutt. and that Dana chimed in, not as expected, but viciously, with an “everyone disagrees with you, Eric”
Ugh. Eric handled it better than in previous such ugly scenes, he should have stopped there, but he insulted Bob later on.
Regardless, he was right.
NO reason at all to bring that here, to risk our military escorts.
For what?
When people volunteer to help individuals, they are wonderful, but they are on their won.
When the state Dept sends diplomats to a War Zone, for the benefit of the State, we give them protection, and we do not send them into an ebola zone with an agreement to bring them back if they are contaminated, putting our country at risk.
Where the heck is common sense?
