Yep. A 19 year old cousin of mine was having the same problem. She wanted a gun, and cops/school said, "No,no protection for you until 21, and NOT on school".

She called me and asked my advice. I said carry anyways. "How many times have you gone through a metal detector at school? How many stops and patdowns/searches of purse at school?"

Answer, none.

Carry quietly and it is always better to lose tuition than your life. She still carries today at medical school....quietly.

My 13 year old carries pepper spray, and has been through a course on how to use it, complete with the q-tip application of the agent below her eyes to get a sense for how long it takes to impact the assailant.

She’s already picked out her ‘purse gun’ - has it narrowed to one of about six models, although recently she’s picked up the benefits of a wheel gun vs a semi-automatic (no jamming).

She’ll likely settle on a small .38 special.

She’ll carry until she is old enough to get her CCP.

Warren v. DC

It should be REQUIRED READING in order to vote, buy food, own a home, have kids, be allowed to breathe free air in the US.

You are responsible for your own protection, not the police.

1. Apprehend Suspects
2. Collect Evidence
3. Nothing else

The above three things are what Police are actually responsible for in the United States. Protection of citizens is NOT on that list.
