Virginia’s Catholic bishops said in a July 28 statement that “those with same-sex attractions must be treated with respect and sensitivity,” but reaffirmed the Catholic Church’s teaching that marriage should be between one man and one woman.
Bishops Francis X. DiLorenzo of Richmond and Paul S. Loverde of Arlington issued the statement after a three-judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, based in Richmond, ruled 2-1 that Virginia’s same-sex marriage ban is unconstitutional.

Bishops: Marriage ruling an ‘injustice’
The bishops always complain about the results of these decisions, or votes.
What they never do is tell the perpetrators who may be Catholic, or Catholics who vote for same-sex marriage, that they must not receive Communion, and if their position is publicly known, that they will be denied Communion.
Thus, we get people saying things like, “I’m more of a Nancy Pelosi—Pope Francis kind of a Catholic.”

Lets change the word and see if it still makes sense.
“those with child-sex attractions must be treated with respect and sensitivity,”
“those with animal-sex attractions must be treated with respect and sensitivity,”
“those with someone else’s spouse-sex attractions must be treated with respect and sensitivity,”
