I still can’t believe he was stupid enough to casually toss out a racial slur as if it was “cool” to do. Just imagine what this troglodyte would’ve said if I had brought up Dr. Ben Carson.

Reminds me of an exchange with the most underrated talker in NY city talk radio history, Dave Dawson.

A pro-abort caller was trying to make Dave Dawson (who had been libertarian pro-abort earlier in life until swinging hard pro-life) to make an exception. Unlike Bob Grant, Mark Levin and other NY talkers (except Barry Farber) Dawson, never raises his voice or get s heated:

Caller: What if the Doctor sayd your wife will die if she doesn't get an abortion?!

Dawson: (in monotone) I'd get another doctor.

Caller: You #$%$%$ half-breed! (Dawson was half American Indian)

Dawson: (calmly hanging up on caller for out of bounds remark) Now we know what he was all about.

Dawson was never appreciated in NYC, like he was in Missouri, but he was a great morning man, worthy of being on before Rush's 10AM NY show and Bob Grant's afternoon drive time on WABC-AM.

Well handled. Left-wingers are just about the most racist people around, and it doesn’t take much to set them off.

I almost never listen to talk radio anymore. With all the newsfeeds these days, there’s not much reason to have it distilled via talking heads or radio hosts when you can be on it almost at once dissecting it (unless you really want a particular person’s take).

One person whom I wish had his own show is Pat Cadell, who is one of the most intelligent folks out there.
