The majority of Americans are against Obamacare, but the Dems passed it any way. Obamacare is here to stay. Every year that goes by, it sinks deeper roots. An amnesty will not be reversed. The damage is done.
The Dems are willing to pay the short term price to achieve their long term goals. In fact, the 2012 elections just cemented their control even further.
I don't know. There is a huge reckoning that needs to take place with the GOPe. Perhaps it will have to come AFTER Obamaism/democratic values are thoroughly defeated.
The former has to take place prior to the latter taking place.
I’m not sure about those roots, Kabar.
The other shoe has still yet to drop and that is when companies are forced to get Obamacare coverage or drop health insurance as a benefit and take the penalty. I suspect that many corporate bean counters are going to see the financial advantage to just paying the penalty, and then the fur will fly!
When that happens (not if), I think many a democrat will jump on the repeal bandwagon. Now, will the thing they try to jump to be single-payer? I think so. The GOP would be smart to challenge that with “jumping into the fire from the frying pan” approach, but only time will tell. The best argument for not going to single-payer is we have NO MONEY.
But as HL Mencken once said, “No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people”
