I don’t think most people even know anyone who came down with let alone died from Sars or monkey Pox. They certainly don’t seem to be an epidemic. And you don’t get Aids unless you take in body fluids from someone who has HIV correct? So unless Ebola becomes airborn like influenza us here in America with our modern medical procedures it wouldn’t be able to advance very far would it?
SOrry if those sounded like rhetorical questions as they are not. Just trying to get confirmation, as this Ebola thing does scare me a bit.
Worst headline I could read would be “Ebola outbreak feared outstripping control efforts in Honduras”, because if aerosolized Ebola gets into Central America, it’s ‘Adios, Muchachos’ for the United States. The Ebola virus would party like its 1399.
But then again, in an hour I could be so bloody far away from civilization in an area that even an aerosol-spread tropical virus wouldn’t have a chance to harm me.
I hereby serve notice I’m laying claim to the entire Yosemite valley as my new home when the plague contagion is all over.
And unfortunately it has already reached the US, because we brought it here.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

Let’s see, I want to create a crisis that would let me suspend almost ALL constitutional protections regarding due process. I want to do it in a way that most Americans would initially agree with. I want it to be in full swing by 2016. Then I can “suspend†writs and rights at whim. Most will be so scared that they will agree to almost anything. Bada-bing, Bada-boom. Marshall law and Obama is dictator for as long as his handlers want. Yep, Ebloa might be just the ticket, but I can’t wait until it gets here by itself, I know, I’ll import it (on strictly humanitarian grounds)
