The contents need to be sterile as well.
If the outside of the packages is contaminated, I’d guess the insides could be as well although I do realize that the outsides are more exposed to stuff so it is a good idea.
I’m thinking of stocking up on clorox and a spray bottle.

Hydrogen peroxide does jack against virus and is not very effective against bacteria. The foaming action is moderately useful as a wound cleaning agent .
Common household bleach is in the 3-8% range of sodium hyperchlorite. The medicos are using 10%+ solutions for decontamination. Those concentrations are available, just not at your neighbor grocery.
