According to Brooks, these policy gestures were less about governing and more about winning over a certain constituency.
“This is about Palin-ization of parts of the GOP,” Brooks said. “This is not about passing legislation, not about, well, we’re in a party. We should pay attention to our leaders. We should craft some compromise. We should compromise with the other side. This is about making a statement that will sound good on Fox [News]. And so they want to make a statement that will sound good on TV or will sound good at a town meeting, but it’s not actually about governing.
Brooks went on to call for an “anti-Cruz” that be answer to Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) influence on Republican policy.
“And there are a lot of — and my question is, OK, Ted Cruz, senator, it should be said, met with a bunch of House members, which doesn’t happen that often, and sort of helped organize this. So, which senator is going to stand up and be the anti-Cruz? Who is going to stand up for Republican values, but I believe in governing? And so far, that person has not emerged.

There are no words to adequately express how profoundly stupid and pompous David Brooks is (not to mention a suck up too).
Actually, most sane people see him as a leftist who pretends he’s something else................
The “Republican” party should stand for “Conservative” values. I don’t recall any, even though I know there has to be some, Republicans that don’t describe themselves their values or at least their economic policies as Conservatives. Apparently many of them don’t know the meaning of the word, to many it’s only a one word campaign slogan.
Palin lives rent free in tiny left wing brains.
The chaff is being separated from the wheat, because the Winds of Washington are on now on Cruz Control - - - .
Make us proud Ted Cruz, Jeff Sessions and Mike Lee, make us proud to be Americans, again.
Brookes is Reid’s Step’n’fetchit.
The Irony is Sarah Palin, did very little to get the reputation she has been given by the Obama Campaign(including the media who made themselves a part in 2008).
Most people today ridicule Sarah Palin for something Tina Fey did.
The most unfortunate and hypocritical part of it all was the empirical fact that Sarah Palin was indeed the most qualified and experienced person in the 2008 race, baring none.
Not even John McCain had the kind of real executive experience Sarah Palin had proven as Govern of Alaska.
...to unzip? Yep.
