Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Prayers for the good doctor. But, is importing this virus to North America really a good idea?
God bless him....God fully restore him and. Mrs. Writebol.
History will record him as the one who brought ebola to America. Glad I don’t live near Atlanta.
What could possibly go wrong?
With the CDCs recent track record, I do not see this ending well.
I am thinking the woman must be in better shape? Trying to decide how they decided who to bring first.
People are really hyped up. Influenza kills many hundreds of thousands more each year.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see hypochondriacs showing up at clinics claiming they have Ebola. A panicked mother might call the school deathly afraid that another kid’s dad went to Africa on business last year.
I do realize that Ebola is potentially very dangerous. But we must keep in mind that government masterminds can be even more dangerous by exploiting a crisis as a means to restrict individual liberty and consolidate power.
Samaritan doctor with Ebola lets coworker take serum
BOONE, N.C. — A Samaritan’s Purse doctor (Dr. Kent Brantly ) afflicted with the deadly Ebola virus in Liberia, declined to take an experimental serum, insisting that a missionary be given the treatment instead...
An experimental serum arrived in the country Wednesday, but there was only enough for one person. Dr. Brantly asked that it be given to Nancy Writebol,” Graham said.
One of the main acts in the fight against spread of a deadly disease is containment and isolation. Moving an affected person thousands of miles to a supposedly secure facility is not isolation or containment. Those who made the decision to move these two people to the U.S. have violated the basic rule in containment of a infectious disease.
