An American doctor in serious condition after he contracted Ebola was on a specially outfitted plane on the way to the U.S. for treatment Saturday morning, the organization Samaritan's Purse told NBC News. Dr. Kent Brantly the first person infected with Ebola to be transported to the U.S. will land at Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta, Georgia, before he is transported to Emory Hospital in Atlanta.

KEEP HIM OUT????
Good mercy, our president has allowed who knows what diseases already into our country.....
....and this privately cared for & funded doctor is to be rejected!
I think not!
He could be & probably will be.....treated with possible cures, that you and I might need someday.........our enemies have the ebola serum too.
That, or the citizenry start torching the homes of elected officials, then tarring/feathering the congresscritters themselves.
We should set up a treatment center in Africa and do it now.
He should be shipped to the CDC Level Four containment (aka “The Hammer”) room. Not at a university hospital.
People are really hyped up. Influenza kills many hundreds of thousands more each year.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see hypochondriacs showing up at clinics claiming they have Ebola. A panicked mother might call the school deathly afraid that another kid’s dad went to Africa on business last year.
I do realize that Ebola is potentially very dangerous. But we must keep in mind that government masterminds can be even more dangerous by exploiting a crisis as a means to restrict individual liberty and consolidate power.
Put him in YOUR house then. Keep him OUT of the country.
Samaritan doctor with Ebola lets coworker take serum
BOONE, N.C. — A Samaritan’s Purse doctor (Dr. Kent Brantly ) afflicted with the deadly Ebola virus in Liberia, declined to take an experimental serum, insisting that a missionary be given the treatment instead...
An experimental serum arrived in the country Wednesday, but there was only enough for one person. Dr. Brantly asked that it be given to Nancy Writebol,” Graham said.
And people are murdered every day.....but that doesn’t mean I would willingly go to Chicago and walk the streets at night.
Like bad weather across the Atlantic, engine failure requiring an emergency landing "Somewhere", mechanical failure, like a gear up landing with maybe a resulting fire or some sort of damage requiring evacuation of the passengers,, etc. etc. etc. What could go wrong? Chances are slim but.......?
a chance to study and find a cure.
Not likely, it's caused by a mutating virus.
his blood will be useful to researchers, especially if he survives.
A big "if"...his blood is lethal.
Regarding fears of his entering the country, I believe that the long incubation period
It doesn't have a "long incubation period"
makes this disease a very effective covert biological weapon.
Oh, great, another thing for the murdering moslems to play with. We aren't even supposed to have them.
Better to study now with our advanced equipment than before we have a full blown epidemic.
Maybe....somewhere else, like Africa. If we "weaponize" it, we probably will have a "full blown epidemic".
Perhaps a chance to study and find a cure. I have to believe his blood will be useful to researchers, especially if he survives.
That’s true and I’m glad to see that he’s going to receive the best possible care.
I would have expected common sense from Franklin Graham, but I guess not.
If our doctors want to head to Africa and treat the afflicted Americans, fine, let them go. The point is this: there’s never been a case of Ebola in America, but we have just voluntarily brought it in.
A doctor on Fox News said he would think we’ll see “some” cases popping up here and there, but no major outbreak. Yeah. Right.
“Perhaps a chance to study and find a cure.”
Yes I think you have hit on it. I hope the poor man survives and it may not be dangerous bringing one person in a bubble to the CDC containment center. It does seem odd since its never been done before. They are probably trying to come up with a vaccine or something.
Researchers have been studying ebola (all strains) for nearly 40 years.
There are literally hundreds of publications in PubMed on ebola.
There are already several promising antivirals, one of which is in clinical studies right now as an anti-influenza drug, that have shown effectiveness against ebola.
This is about using a level 4 containment facility that’s there and needs to be used or funding will dry up. And all the subsequent publications the practicing docs will get for years to come. Nothing more.
They’ve already got a vaccine that will begin clinical trials in September.
They’ve got several antiviral drugs that are being tested right now.
If they wanted to test these things there’s no reason they can’t do it in Africa. There are plenty of ebola patients in Africa.
This is to justify the funding of a level 4 containment facility in this country and the subsequent funding and publication streams of the attending physicians. Nothing more.
You beat me to the publications issue.
No. It is a radiantly stupid idea. Among the worst in human history.
May God not have mercy on their souls. Evil, greedy thing to do.
BTW isn’t the Walking Dead Atlanta based?
