The House of Representatives voted Friday evening to pass a bill that blocks President Barack Obama from continuing or expanding executive amnesty via the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program or programs like it.
The bill passed 216 to 192, with 11 Republicans voting against it and 4 Democrats voting for it.

They need to hear from everyone, especially the voters in their states. There was no reason to vote against this that I can see.

Of the 11 Republicans who voted AGAINST the bill, Adam Kinzinger of Illinois is the only one that I suspect currently has aspirations for higher office. He would NEVER get my support based upon this single betrayal. Just like Rubio, he is dead to me now...no matter how much he may try (again like Rubio) to rehabilitate himself in the future.
He now represents a huge section of rural eastern Washington that is a big time agricultural area, and it has a large Hispanic population.
Before 2002, his District was centered on Bellevue, which is 33% (!) foreign born.
He is (was) a law-and-order, center-left Republican.
He could not have been elected in the Bellevue area except for the fact that he was King County Sheriff, and, in earlier years, he led the investigation that successfully ID’d the prime suspect in the “Green River Murders.”
In 2012, the Democrat who won Reichert’s old seat in Bellevue got 75% of the vote.
Upton from Michigan..read he’s a big time RINO so not surprising.
Not sure about in the areas these 11 represent, but here in NM I usually hear Hispanics that came legally being just as vocal as we here on FR are about illegal immigration.

Agreed here. Normally I'm not a single issue type guy. But I'll never vote for a republican who supports amnesty. never.
Was just talking to a guy that sold his house in Bellevue. All of the lookers were Chinese except for a Korean family and a white family.
A realtor told him 85% of the homes sold in Bellevue are to foreigners. (And I imagine most of them are Chinese).
I agree with both of you. I haven’t been a single issue voter, but amnesty is too important IMO. If someone supports amnesty they will not get my vote.

I don’t think Kinzinger or Upton have many hispanics.
In Texas the GOP is getting 80% of the white vote and in Arizona it might be around 66%. New Mexico might be similar numbers. There are a lot of illegals, Hispanic minors and guest workers who can’t vote. They are probably getting 25- 40% of the Hispanic vote depending on the Congressman.
Congressman Steve Pearce(R-NM) seems to be for guest workers mainly because big business tells him to, moreso than pandering to Hispanics.
Even Blake Farenthold district is pretty safe Republican and it is half hispanic but there are 10,000 more registered white voters.
Amodei has 20% latino, but his district is R+5. None of the people who voted for amnesty are in real trouble except Coffman.

On Tuesday, National Journal reported that Rep. Michael Burgess (R-TX) was similarly worried about the political repercussions of a pathway to citizenship. In a closed-door meeting with Republicans, Burgess apparently joked about the “11 million undocumented Democrats” who could get to vote if a pathway were enacted.
Marchant represents Dallas, Texas, where there are estimated to be thousands of undocumented people residing. His district is 24 percent Hispanic.
Farenthold won narrowly in 2010 in a 70% Hispanic district.

The current district is R+13.
I dont think impeaching Holder or investigating Obama’s birth is part of the RINO playbook on pandering to Hispanics but Farenthold always talks those issues. I think he is just a fat cat who wants more cheap workers. Farenthold has been all over the place on amnesty recently.

The largest, and most prosperous, immigrant group here is Asian Indians, who work almost exclusively in the IT and Software companies.
We also have a large Filipino immigrant group.
They are mostly blue collar, but, surprisingly, they vote about 40%-45% Republican.
The Asian Indians, in spite of high education and high salaries, vote 90% Democrat.
Finally, we have one of the largest Russian expatriate groups in America (Ukraine mostly).
They are mostly blue collar, and I’ll guess they vote Socialist, since they often look really unhappy at work.
We have almost no American Blacks and just a small percentage of Hispanics.
