Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but, does Obama saying we tortured people somehow expose us to lawsuits? He’s saying we broke international law, Geneva convention standards, etc.???

Why is he commenting on this at all???

Because a huge issue with his base was the water-boarding. Also a major distraction, yet on a Friday it is interesting that he commented on it.

According to one summary of the Senate report I read, the Democrats slipped in some language like the common meaning of "torture."

According to the definition in the US Code and the international convention, we didn't torture anyone. That's what the Bush Justice Department memo the Dems scream about concluded, too. But that doesn't fit the Dem/MSM meme.

You would think that a President who allegedly was a law professor would know this.

"Why is he commenting on this at all???"

Because it can hurt us and it allows him to showcase his alleged moral superiority.
