The Royal Air Force could be called in to bring back UK citizens infected with the deadly Ebola disease from West Africa. David Cameron has said that Ebola outbreak is a very serious threat to the UK and the foreign secretary, Philip Hammond, is preparing to chair an emergency meeting today on how to tighten Britains defences against the virus. Major Thomas Fletcher, of the Royal Army Medical Corps said it was likely the meeting would discuss putting the military on alert to repatriate Britons infected with the disease. The Royal Air Forces Infection Prevention Control Team is likely to be placed on standby to collect UK citizens and return them to Britain in quarantine conditions.

They’re not saying anything but you know they have the passenger lists of the planes Patrick Sawyer was on as well as the connecting flights they took to cities all over the world.
Sounds like a really really bad plan.
Of course those things are NOT readily available in the “bush.” So, in those cases, it’s fatal.
“really, really bad” is an understatement for this one.
They need to set up medical facilities in Antarctica where humans are sparse and other vectors are nonexistent. Clear out one of those global warming research stations and send them all home.
Great,I just read last week that there’s a shortage of saline IV in this country.
What about the systemic organ failure that tends to accompany it? Even with palliative treatment, many will still die.
It’s a very serious threat, so quick, bring it in here!
I think the key is quarantine. Ebola can thrive in the rainforest / low hygiene regions of the planet. Outside of that environment it has a tough time. I doubt it could live long in desert conditions. It is also a cultural thing as all the third worlders have their own cultural practices as well as traditional caring for the ebola victims. Here? Our touchy feely is limited. Here? Preparation of the deceased is totally different. Beyond that, the Liberians should be able to combat and contain it by changing the dietary dependency on easy bush meat..... and limiting contact with the infected and loads of soap and water. I would also think that ebola has a leg up on any compromised immune system and any already sickly people. I once heard that 85 percent of Africans also have hepatitis a, b and/or c. Then there are the traditional malaria and crap born diseases readily available in the immediate surroundings to make the system work even harder.
Loss of fluids may be one thing, massive internal haemorrhaging is another...
Am I just ignernt or is the normal operating procedure for this stuff to leave the infected people in quarantine where they are sick? First time I heard of flying infected Ebola patients back home. They are bringing two Americans back to Atlanta to Emory Hospital. I would say the worst idea since the beginning of time.
I have never heard of taking infected people out of a hot zone ever! Why would you bring infected people to a area without infection? Only reason would be to spread Ebola to the rest of the world. Can you say AGENDA 21?
I too am surprised at moving the Ebola Americans....there were 729 deaths in Africa. This is a terrible decision...but they think it will be okay, unreal.
Of course! One is FLUIDS; the other is BLOOD.
Eboli requires massive intake of FLUIDS, not blood.

It would appear insanity is pervasive in the West these days.
