I agree. While I am not in any way a lockstep beck follower, I think he is doing overall good here. Am I convinced this had to be done? No. But I think leading the way in providing proactive care (by people, not bureaucracy) is a reasonable thing to do. Beck’ mission now is clearly changed to break through the traditional left/right lines of debate and look to do things that cross that divide. He thinks the only way to alter the course in our nations decline is to think differently and bring people together who otherwise would be at odds. In that sense, this action makes perfect sense. Big picture, he sees helping these people is good and still stand for deportation back home and stronger border defense in the long run. He thinks this action is a better step to get the right actions underway as opposed to letting the left demagogue their way to open borders.
As said, I can’t say he’s right or wrong. I do think it is done for the right reasons, and I don’t think his actions in a vacuum have any impact on more or less people coming over the border in the future.
Beck is like Ted Baxter. Both say things against their grain-gets them noticed. George Will on Fox caved also.
“Do Not Feed the Bears”.
There is a reason such behavior is prohibited.
Beck is busy feeding the bears.
