It’s due to being a city full of uneducated, drunk, doped, morons that don’t work or support themselves.

So why did it happen to Detroit and not Pittsburgh?

I’ve been employed for over 20 years and been tested only once.

And there you have it, a poll sample of one.

That's one more data point than you've supplied - and YOU'RE the one who made the claim: "Nobody else will hire them [pot smokers] either."

The answer to your question is found in the demographics.

I’ve fired many of them over the years. Every company I’ve ever worked for had a zero tolerance policy on drugs. Most every industrial employer is the same.

Every company I’ve ever worked for had a zero tolerance policy on drugs.

So now we have several nonrandomly selected data points on either side - which proves only that some employers test and some don't.

Most every industrial employer is the same.

Have any more evidence for that claim than "every company you’ve ever worked for"?

“Firms implementing drug testing programs also can be
distinguished by type of industry. The 1989 Conference
Board survey showed that three-fourths of the companies
with drug testing programs were manufacturers or gas and
electric utilities, while nearly half of the companies that reported
not having a drug testing program were in banking,
insurance, and other financial service industries.”

So your claim "Nobody else will hire them either" is true only if by "nobody" you meant more than half of U.S. workplaces (Table 1).

Hang on to your burger flipper/motel cleaning job,

Who, me? I'm a senior data analyst - but thanks for your concern.

most are drug testing now.

Still a far cry from "Nobody else will hire them either".

You did not answer my question, which is far more fundamental than just illicit drug use.

Our freedoms are under constant assault by the ruling elites & bureaucrats. The Second Amendment has been ignored in many states. The first Amendment is constantly under fire.

What does it mean to have the right to be “secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures” as the Fourth Amendment states?

There are millions of people in this country that would happily take away your guns, your meat, your medications, your wealth, your children, & your home; just as there are many people who would happily throw marijuana smokers, all drug users, into jail forever. See any similarity there? It's called tyranny.

There is nothing on this planet more directly against tyranny than the Constitution, which doesn't mention drug or alcohol (a drug) use, but does state clearly that “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

You and I aren’t in disagreement here... the only caveat I offer is I don’t want kids getting their hands on the currently illegal stuff.

although they report that pot is easier to get than alcohol

Wow. Easier to get a taste of pot than a taste of beer? Really? In America. Ok. Conversation over. You obviously have an agenda. Toke up.

"a higher percentage of teens surveyed finds marijuana easier to buy than both cigarettes and beer." National Survey of American Attitudes on Substance Abuse, http://www.casacolumbia.org/download/file/fid/640

Conversation over. You obviously have an agenda. Toke up.

Sorry to confuse your made-up mind with the facts.
