Colorado convert to Islam charged with conspiracy to aid Islamic State

At some point Shannon Maureen Conley converted to Islam, and at some point she got the idea that waging violent jihad against unbelievers was something she should engage in so as to please Allah. No one in the local Muslim community apparently succeeded in disabusing her of this notion, even though they ostensibly reject this understanding of Islam. Did anyone there even try?
