The GOP in Mass has 14% of the registered voters. Don’t matter much how the elections are run. Can’t do much of anything with that number.

“The GOP in Mass has 14% of the registered voters.”

What percentage do the Dems have?

FWIW, here in Canada, fewer than 2% of the population are members of any political party. We’re overwhelmingly “independent” — and, from what I’ve gleaned on this site, it’s a lot better that way.

That's a bit misleading though, since "Unenrolled," or independent voters, represent about 40% of registered voters in MA, and they lean conservative.

The Mass. GOP doesn't deserve to have that many! If a conservative wants to run as a Republican, the state party will recruit a liberal to run against him in the primary. The way the national GOPe is going now has been the MA GOP modus operandi for 30 or 40 or more years!
