Attorneys familiar with the judge assigned to a lawsuit challenging the state's ban on gay marriages say she is perfectly suited for the controversial case challenging a constitutional amendment passed by voters in 2008....
Attorney Michael Gongora, the first openly gay member of the Miami Beach City Commission, said six couples challenging the state law on constitutional grounds could do far worse than Zabel on this hot-button issue.
"Judge Zabel is a good judge for this case," said Gongora, a partner with Becker & Poliakoff in Coral Gables.

This is the judge that just pissed on the state constitution and desecrated the intent of the US Constitution's 14th amendment.
Geez. This is a good judge in their opinion, because they expect a ruling in favor of homosexual marriage.
They expect this judge to rule for homosexual marriage. That’s why they are so happy with this choice.
What's wrong with this picture?
The streets aren’t running with the blood of tyrants. That’s what’s wrong.
I used to think this was true (back around the turn of the century. Now it is clear that we are so far past it that the only thing missing is courage and a “nothing to lose attitude, which more and more americans are gaining every single day:
“America is at that awkward stage: It’s too late to work within the system and too early to shoot the ba$tard$.”

No Christian clergyman should ever sign a state marriage license. (Yes, perform the religious ceremony...but keep it distinct from the State registration process)
If they don’t, there is going to be some court case at some point in time ordering clergy to perform “same sex marriages”. The justification being that they act as an agent of the State when they sign the licenses and, therefore, are not allowed to discriminate against that “protected class.”
I am 100% certain about the above happening within the next 5-10 years. I am almost as certain that the same court will not allow them to stop signing licenses, as in doing so, they would be attempting to thwart the court’s decision.
And, no, I’m not holding my breath waiting for any clergyman (much less Catholic clergy) to take my advice.
I’ve wondered if we will wait for “the other shoe to drop” so to speak, on marriage and churches.
Now that we are on the way to institutionalizing homosexual marriage, will they start suing churches which don’t perform such marriages?
Are there any mainstream Judeo-Christian religions which perform homosexual marriages???
Once the liberals have forced 50 state homosexual marriage on us, I would expect that’s when they will make their move and start suing churches. I hope I am wrong, and that they leave churches alone. But the liberals, who have disdain for religion for other reasons, may not let this issue alone. They may want to force homosexuality on every area of society including churches.
This move to celebrate sodomy has been rapid, but I move to reverse it could also be as well. We do need a revival, a spiritual revival in this nation. I believe that can still happen.
On the other hand, God may be preparing us for more persecution.
Whatever happens, we must remain true to the Word.
Yes. the Presbyterians (PCUSA) do, the Lutherans (ELCA) do, the United Church of Christ (UCC) does, certain Episcopal dioceses do, so-called "Old Catholics" (not, repeat not, in communion with Rome) do, Mennonites do, Quakers do, and I believe some liberal Baptists (not, repeat not Southern Baptists or Independent Fundamental Baptists) do as well -- see here as an example.
I didn’t know so many mainstream religions are on the homosexual marriage band wagon.
homosexuality has indeed gone mainstream.
A state judge declaring her own constitution to be unconstitutional. Attorneys acting like that is appropriate. Completely lawless - they should all be disbarred.
Yes, especially since they normally include saying ‘by the power invested in me by the state of ...., I know pronounce you man and wife.”
