U.S. Sen. John McCain says the execution of an Arizona inmate that lasted two hours was torture.
The Republican who represents the conservative state told Politico that he supports capital punishment for certain crimes but felt Wednesdays execution of Joseph Rudolph Wood was a bollocks-upped situation.
The execution has renewed debate about the death penalty. But Arizona lawmakers say the debate is not likely to have an impact on practices in the state.

If it's good enough for innocent babies, it's damn sure good enough for the dregs that are on death row.
The American people believe in both abortion and capital punishment; they never see a disconnect.
AZ has a “conservative” reputation, but it is just that, a “reputation”.
You are right about being blind to the disconnect. I'd wager there are more pro-abortion folks who think capital punishment is wrong. Ironically, they see sucking the brains out of an innocent baby as perfectly fine, but think it's cruel to kill a criminal who has caused pain and fear as he committed some heinous crime against another human being.
I think they're suffering some form of insanity and it gets worse by being in contact with "free" stuff.
