Maybe you're right. However, it's a good bet that they'll slam all religion, and speak of the evils of ‘religious fanaticism’, rather than to direct this wholly toward Islam. I think the idea that the left will ever be convinced by facts or argument that they are wrong, about anything, is a non-starter. They are the self-convinced. They are the intellectually and morally superior. Of this they are certain. In addition, there is a great deal of hatred on the left, not much different than that which fuels the zealots who persecute others in the Middle East.
The only reason I say they’ll speak out is because they spoke out against Isis ethnic cleansing against Christians the other day. They didn’t say “Christians”....they said something like “other religious groups”. But, they were against it by IsiL in Mosul for the time being.
But they made sure to point out that they were referring to Isul jihadists and not referring to Islam.
I agree. You see this in the comments sections of media sources all the time, because people are ignorant of the gospel of love. They think all religion is the same; when in fact islam is the direct opposite of Christianity in its core.

Exact same thing could have been said about the Nazi party, furthermore, Islam fought for the Nazis during WWII. Nothing new under the sun.
