I agree the Russia today is not the Russia of that time as well...and will add....the Russian people are accustomed to hard and difficult times, they will continue to rally with Putin the more the US pushes against their leader, who has already proved his allegiance to their country and it's people....they 'trust' him even if some may at times may question his moves. ( just a side note FYI.....Kiev's directing scads of revenues and rapidly building up their airstipes.)

Yes, I know... your family and others likely suffered under the USSR.....and Putin does crack down on those now who would create issues in his country. Nobody’s saying he’s a saint by any means...but he does know the people of his country and where they have been and need to come to...

....and they aren’t Americans nor with our history to determine how their country is run. They get to determine that and they support him. For any who have checked it’s pretty easy to see why they do.
