I heard our warrior Secretary of State say today that the situation between Israel and Hamas cannot be solved with “violence”. Now, he couldn’t say “war” because that would presuppose an aggressor, and the aggressor would have to be called out, which of course is Hamas. And that would put the Muslims on the spot. So he used the term “violence” which invokes concepts such as “gang violence” where the guilt is co-equal. I don’t watch much television, so has he ever been asked who started all this? I’ve heard Hamas leaders castigate Israel for their response. Is Israel supposed to get permission from Hamas as to how they respond to aggression.
