It also says “a flag is usually freshened every three months.” So how many days is “a stretch of bright sunny days?” I don’t know, but I have a sneaking suspicion it’s longer than the evening of one day, where as the sun set, the webcam could pick out the bright colors of both flags, to the following morning, when they were virtually pure white. And what is the meaning of “bleach” - faded how much? In the entire history of the bridge, we can safely presume that the flags didn’t suddenly astonish everyone by turning pure white.

Also you didn’t forget that inverse-negative thing of one of the flags, did you? Kind of hard for bleaching to do that.

There, has enough time been wasted on this obviously inapplicable idea? Because I’m done with it.
