Mexico Foreign Minister José Antonio Meade Kuribreña on Tuesday challenged Texas Gov. Rick Perrys characterization of the flow of Central American children into the U.S. as an assault on Americans and their security.
Theres a need to respond to the upsurge in minors, but I dont see how the upsurge of minors threatens the security of the U.S. and I certainly dont see how it threatens the security of Texas, Meade said in an appearance at The Chronicles editorial board. Theres a need for a response. That response should have a high level of humanitarian concerns within it.
To pose (the issue) as a security threat is missing the dynamics behind the migration, he said, including violence in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador that has left thousands of children in need of help.
It also ignores the potential for countries affected by the migration to work together to solve it, he said.

I have a suggestion for Mexico’s Foreign Minister other than “Screw you!” He should take care of his own and let us take care of ours.
Just exactly when did we start letting other countries tell us what to do? My wife said tonight that this country started falling apart the day Reagan left office.
We’re not worried about the 1/4 but wecan’t afford them nor can their parents obviously (plus the fact that hardly any of them pay back into the system that gives them welfare and healthcare for free or them; not us who have to actually pay the bills). it’s the 3/4 that are piggybacking with them that are highly undesirable. They screwed up their country. We don’t need them screwing up ours especially for a socialist tyrant’s end game.
Good, then they're no threat to Mexican security either. Keep 'em.
They aren’t “children” they’re teen & young adult gang members!
Then they are no threat to Mexico either. Send them there.
So then how is Andrew Tahmooressi a threat to Mexico? He made a wrong turn and wants to come back to the US!
So he’s saying he’s fine sending them to Mexico, right?
True, and Mexico Foreign Minister José Antonio Meade Kuribreña will also be happy to know that the Syrian, Iranian, Pakistani, Al-Qaida, and ISIS jihadi are no threat to Texas, either, for they will be staying in Mexico.
