Red is Communist. Don’t use the media newspeak colors. Blue is the color of Conservatism.
Based on what I’m seeing, it looks like an anti-incumbent night. Several in my neck of the woods have lost which is good.
This is a good result for the GOP. Nunn was leading Kingston by 8 but Purdue by only 2.
Thanks... I was replying to the poster and used their description...
The color palette is noted...
10 counties left to report...
Woods is +480... He’s +2500 in Cobb and -300 in Fulton...
Looks like no matter which way it goes the percentages will require a recount...
Hey, I’m not giving up on my Quixotic quest either: getting people to stop calling leftists/statists/collectivists/socialists/Marxists “liberals.”
Thomas Jefferson was a liberal. Adam Smith and Bastiat were liberals. Hayek and Milton Friedman called themselves liberals. Leftists are NOT liberal!
I’ll support your lost cause if you’ll support mine. ;-)

I don’t mean to sound rude, it drives me bonkers. The leftist media did that deliberately on Election Night 2000 with the color switcheroo. Our side should’ve swiftly rebuked it. The Red color is synonymous with totalitarian regimes of the left (Communism/Naziism/Fascism), which our domestic Communist Democrats want so much to disassociate themselves from. We cannot let them off the hook with it.
Next time someone from our side chirps excitedly about a state going “Red”, always be there to swiftly correct them and let them know what it means. The left laughs at us behind our backs when we accept their mislabeling of us.
You’re absolutely right. The statist left stole that from our side, too, and diminished its formerly good name. We’re long overdue to take it back.
Of course, to me, what’s even funnier with those on the left that run from that label and prefer to call themselves “Progressive” is that that is what Communists in the Democrat party (supporters of FDR’s Second VP Henry Wallace, who ran for President in 1948) took as their new party name. They resurrected it from the Socialist Republicans of the 1910s and ‘20s.
I’d think even many of the Communists from that era and the Socialists of a century ago would be disgusted at what passes for a “Progressive” agenda today, then again, perhaps not.
Dave Leip’s website. He gets it right.
Limited government, class mobility, and freedom are traditional liberal ideals, and the very things that Dems and the GOPe hate.
AND it's not even her legal name - she is dropping her married name - Martin - for political purposes....
I think that’s right: it won’t make a difference at all. The voters are too uninformed to select good nominees.
I remember in 2000 that the networks held off calling GA for GWB until it could not be denied.
You’d be surprised what a well-known name can do in GA politics.
