A top National Guard general says most of the 1,000 troops heading to South Texas will take up observation positions along the border and detain people only if they interfere with their mission.
Texas Adjutant General John Nichols told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the troops will help deter illicit traffic amid a record spike of unaccompanied minors crossing the border. Republican Gov. Rick Perry announced the Guard's involvement Monday.

Yes, we are being ruled by those ruling against the will of the people. The people want defined and enforced borders, like every other country on earth. We do not want illegal aliens, many who are criminals and drug dealers invading.
However, imagine what would happen if ONE illegal alien is harmed by a national guardsman. The media would go ape$#@$, and that is all you would hear 24/7 for weeks. The NG is trained to kill people and break things. It does not matter that 600+ have died over the past few years in one border county, and there are many tiny bodies that were found around the border crossings. The media will never cover that, because it does not support their agenda.
The national guard is, basically handcuffed by our propagandist media. That is the main reason we are so confused as a nation. They (the media) choose the stories that fit their agenda, then harp on them 24/7 as a means of achieving their ideologue goals. They ignore or spike all stories that do not fit their agenda.

Perry doesn’t have a conservative bone in his body. I moved to Texas from the radical progressive state of Oregon four years ago. Texas is asleep at the wheel. Most all of the natives and locals here have adopted the attitude that liberalism will never take hold here so they turn a blind eye. This state will be blue in 2016. They all think I’m nuts as more and more liberal ideas take hold in this state.
Perry could have saved Texans a whole lot of money by just having TXDOT Welcome Center workers go down there and hand out road maps and tourist brochures to illegals.
I don’t know why they aren’t just crossing at official crossings. They’re going to get in anyway.
I’m afraid denial is a tributary of the Trinity.

No this is not Texas, this is the aspiring presidential candidate Rick Perry learning how to do nothing with taxpayers money.
We Texans if turned loose could close the border one way or the other....guaranteed.
