In all the stats in this thread, odd that no cops commit suicide.

Law enforcement is intensely aware of police suicide, but it is extremely hard to track, with arguments over ‘on duty’ or ‘off duty’, whether insurance will pay survivors the same for suicide, and if “someone is to blame for *driving* them to suicide”, not giving them appropriate counseling, not seeing the ‘signs’, etc., ad nauseum.

Generally, it is a nightmare for the entire department. Everybody will have to get psych evaluations, get drug tested, internal affairs will have to reexamine his entire record, any pending cases may have to be dismissed, you name it.

And then, at the national level, states report very different data to the FBI for its annual Uniform Crime Report.
