IANL but we have words in these replies that in Californication, a rental of more than 30 days automatically converts to month-to-month. So the contract is NOT over and the landlord is walking on very shaky ground if they try ad hoc remedies. Lawyer up, learn the lesson for next time, go forth and sin no more.
