You can only play ‘make believe’ so long before it gets boring.
Thomas Aquinas did also but, of course, not in this regard.
Happiness is the one thing that people can agree on. They all want as much of it as they can get. The issue is what happiness consists of. A lot can be said about a person based on what they choose as their ultimate happiness.
Thomas' conclusion was that human happiness consists in God alone and that those who pursue other things for their ultimate happiness find their ultimate disappointment.
Since you are a self proclaimed "conservative in training", I invite you to read the Summa Theologia, the first part of the second part, question 2 in its entirety. It is available free on line. Don't be put off by the style of the "disputed question", it's how science was done in the middle ages.
I’ll look into it. :)
I should clarify, though. Being happy is great. Forcing others to change their lives entirely in order to gratify your twisted sense of happiness is not all right. There is no logical reason to change marriage to suit 1-2% of the population. It will not add anything to society but chaos.
Same sex marriage gives the illusion of marriage without really being married. Marriage is still a man and a woman.
yeah, laugh it off...after all, it’s meaningless.
Damn, after I splurged for their Registry Gift.
I’ll never understand it....If you’re going to be with a chick who looks like a guy, why not just go for the real thing?
Like slapping two hemispheres of Plutonium together.
Well, gee...who would’ve guessed?
Ewwwwwwww.
