The POS’s destruction of the U.S. military continues, and Congress will not do a thing to stop it. Why? Because the new commander-nominee is a woman.
If a woman wants to be Commander of USAF Pacific, all she has to do is to be a career combat pilot. But Lori Robinson is not. Her nomination is rank politics — the Left’s ideology of Affirmative Action over competence and training.
Instead of achievement or performance criteria, the U. S. military under Obama is making personnel decisions based on political criteria of “diversity.”

Although all previous Air Force combatant commanders in active large theaters of operation — the Pacific, Europe and Central Command — have been combat pilots, for the first time a non-career pilot has been nominated to be Commander of the U. S. Air Force in the Pacific.

I finished my first J.O. tour as an O-3 with 1100 hours and that was in fighters. We got a fraction of the hours the E-2 guys got. Then again my first tour looks longer than her operational time for her 30 year career.
We are so screwed.
It is disgraceful.
A black woman was recently promoted to a full four star admiral. I remembered a while back (six months-year ago maybe?) when her “promotion” was announced, I looked up the service record summary of all the three stars that were eligible, just to see who she was being jumped over.
I wish I had saved that post.
I think there were 10 or 15 of them, and the difference in experience when compared to her were stunning. I actually listed all of them in the post without names, including hers.
I asked the rhetorical question: just looking at the resumes, who would be the best and worst candidates. When looked at in that fashion, blinded, the top flag officers were apparent.
But even more striking was the gulf between the bottom resume (which was hers) to even the next one up.
Disgraceful. It is things like this that make me think of liberals as domestic enemies of the United States.
I believe she comes from the AWACS (E-3) command and control force and is very well regarded by several bomber guys I know.
Interesting people think she came from the AWACS community. Fact is she started as a wapons cntroller at Homestead before she went to AWACS. We are called wapons controllers, Ground Control Intercept (GCI) cntrollers or Tactical Radar Controllers. In Vietnam our job was to take fighters from the base out to the Forward Air Controller (FAC) and bring them back. You had to vector them around the artillery and try to keep them out of the worst of the weather. The F-100’s had no radar so they well appreciated what we did. We also did the tanker join-ups for the strikes going into North Vietnam. Sounds simple but can be fun because you turn the tanker in front of the fighters in the anchor so the fighters can minimize their turning before they go to the target. In AWACS they do they same thing only sitting in the back of the E-3. I have no idea where she got her medals. The late Colonel Moody Suter used to grumble because he noticed that weapons controllers had little upward progression and most were separated by the time they made Major. That’s because the battle management jobs went to rated officers. In spite of the fact that the controllers had been doing battle management almost their entire careers while the pilots view of the world was from the cockpit. Moody was the creator of something called Red Flag at Nellis, Warrior Prep in Germany and other similar activities. I can tell you that the entire time I was involved with the people who matter most (fighter pilots) had nothing but respect from them for what I did. An example is that the Aggressors at Nellis use controllers as their extra set of eyes in dog fights and do something called close control where the controllers can give break turns and other energy manuverability calls.

Dwight Eisenhower, Omar Bradley, and George Marshall had no combat experience prior to World War II and as I recall they turned out all right.
Apples and oranges, the country had not been at war in over 20 years when WW2 started. There were few combat officers to select from. For every officer who had served in combat you had 100 officers with no combat experience. The country now has been at war, in two different theaters for 12 years, non-stop.
If you read page two of the Washington Times article, it’s orders from the Obama White House put as many women in command as possible no matter how many combat experienced warriors have to be purged to make room for fast tracking women up the chain of command.

So? That was well within the careers of all three men. None of them saw combat in World War I.
There were few combat officers to select from.
There were hundreds to select from. Patton, Clark, and most of the corps and division commanders all saw combat in that war.

I served in the USAF when the CIC was a man by the name of Eisenhower.
Remember Ike? Can you think that far back? I actually saw the B-58 Hustler take off at Tyndall and F-100’s at Scott (and Johnny U defeat the Giants on a little rectangle B&W TV in 1957 in the rec room).
My point is, pray tell, what do those wings signify above the fruit salad on her left, mmm, chest, breast, side (please help me out)?

Why not? We have a Commander-in-Chief with no executive office experience or any real world job experience, for that matter.
I have many more hours in a Boeing 747 — what am I entitled to?
